Brighton!

Posted by Beth on 8:08 AM in ,
We went down to Brighton for a nice Sunday day trip. The plan was to see the sea and anything else we had time for, and to possibly meet up with some friends of Stuart's for drinks at some point. That never happened in the end, but we had a great time just walking around the city and exploring the seaside!

A fancy hotel (I think) across from the seashore. It was
deceptively cool due to the high winds!

The remains of the old pier that were burned down (arson?)
a few years ago. I think the plan is to eventually take them down.

Stuart and me by the sea!

A bit of the shoreline shops

This cracked me up! I thought at first the museum was
inside this tiny building. Turns out it's actually just the
ticket booth!

Just some nice scenery (into which a dumb blonde lady walked across my photo!)

View of the sea from the pier. Can you believe folks were swimming?? It couldn't have been more than about 60 degrees (15*C ?)

Brighton Pier.. it was packed as you can see.

Me at the sea (say it! It rhymes!)

Distant shore

Royal Pavilion- we meant to go in, but just didn't have
time this day. Apparently it's supposed to be really good!
Next time. At least we have a photo in FRONT of the Pavilion!

More Pavilion

We walked around the back of the Pavilion which took us
through some lovely gardens.

Nice fountain in the square nearby

We sat along the beach for some drinks and this is the sunset
we got to watch from our table. Unfortunately, the photo
doesn't really do it justice.

Went to this pub near the train station for a couple of drinks.
They were playing all Beatles music inside. It was a great pub. :)
